ALWAYS GREEN, ALWAYS BLUE
Already for the 18th time Gallery and Children’s Creative Art Centre in Toruń is organizing the International Children’s and Young People’s Art Competition “Always green, always blue”. Each edition, this international event is not only popularize the broader ecology of children and young people, but above all, the project aims to show trends in art children in the world.
Over the years the competition has evolved, he changed his themes. This year’s edition of “Always green, always blue” for the first time accompanied by intermedia, open-air art classes. The theme of the 18th international review as well as creative workshops organized for children and young people from the region Kujawsko-Pomorskie has become – a journey. Traveling understood in the literal sense, and almost metaphysical.
For an overview of 20915 works were submitted from 54 countries. 1267 international jury selected works for the exhibition after the competition. Among the exhibition included a set of projects with such exotic places as, for example .: Brunei, Morocco, Sri Lanka, South Africa, South Korea, Philippines. They awarded 50 prizes and the same number of individual awards in five age categories. 3 institutions were awarded special prizes for the competition prepared collections of works. The prize Marshal of the Kujawsko-Pomorskie was honored actively working center in Hong Kong – Simply Art, and the Award of the President of Torun got the club “Pastel” from Zabrze. In addition, the selection board awarded the collection of works prepared by Dagmar Fila – a teacher of základní školy Umeleckiej from Pilsen in the Czech Republic.
Among the set of the exhibition were works made in the traditional, sometimes precious graphic techniques, there is also a painting, drawing, oil pastel work done, collages and spatial forms, ceramics. All this is a very unique mix of different sensibilities, ways of working with young people, cultural backgrounds, the place from which came the author of execution. At the post-competition exhibition once again you will see a wide range of creative possibilities for children and young people from different, often very distant corners of the world.
